Types of Health Facilities 

Private A&E
  • Offers services for certain scans and tests, often not available at night.

  • Provides same-day results.

  • Allows direct referrals to a Consultant.

Public A&E
  • Primary emergency healthcare departments, open 24/7, 365 days a year.

  • Often have long waiting times due to high patient volumes.

Public Injury Unit
  • Facilities for treating injuries that are unlikely to require hospital admission.

  • Usually day time only opening hours.

Private Minor Injury Clinics
  • Walk-in and same-day appointment clinics.

  • Offer scans and tests, but not typically for emergency cases.
